Notebook Axioo PICO DJM616 review

the netbook movement with the launch of its Axioo PICO DJM 616, a 10.2-inch netbook entrée with the usual Intel Atom N270 processor at its heart.

Resemblances aside, the PICO isn't too shabby in its construction although it does have its share of quirks. For one, we spotted a Bluetooth indicator amongst the row of LEDs sitting on the unit's front lip. While Axioo could be planning for future upgrades, it should be noted that this particular model does not provide any Bluetooth connectivity. So buyers, take heed.
In some cases, going big can be attractive if executed in a tasteful manner but the huge logo emblazoned on its lid is rather unappetizing with the netbook's small frame.

Connectivity wise, there's almost nothing to tell the Wind and PICO apart. Both are armed with three USB ports, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, and a 3-in-1 card reader (4-in-1 if you factor in MS Pro support). But if Bluetooth gizmos are your thing, then the Windows edition of the MSI Wind should be a wiser choice.

The Latitude E6400 XFR is the latest upgraded notebook from Dell that sports nothing less than Ballistic Armor that can withstand even hurricanes and desert storms. This is a fully rugged laptop with a frame that is built like a safe. This makes the E6400 XFR to be a very heavy unit, weighing an enormous 8.5 pounds. The latest XFR boasts of a new armoring technology. This technology is Dell’s exclusive PR481 material that the company calls its “Ballistic Armor.” This is a polymer hybrid base that is used in cryogenics and the automotive industry.
This polymer hybrid base brags of a very high strength-to-weight ratio, thereby making the product extremely rugged and tough.

The laptop meets the MIL-STD 810F and IEC specifications. These are military certified tests rated for situations like 3-feet drops, high dust levels, extreme temperatures, and high moisture levels. The E6400 XFR rates highly even in independent specifications like IP64 and IP65. In these tests, water is jetted into a device at 50 MPH. The E6400 XFR comes out with flying colours in these tests too. According to Dell, the E6400 XFR can withstand, in addition to accidental drops and spills, a hurricane and a desert storm.

The unit also features Dell Quadcool fan at its base. This fan pulls heat from a line of metal pipes that run through the computer’s motherboard. The E6400 XFR’s hard drive also carries three layers of protection. The first layer of protection is given by a thermal elastomer material located on the corners of the unit. The second layer is of a hard case shock mount and the final layer of protection is given by rubber shock mounts within the computer chassis. The front bezel of the XFR sports a carrying handle that is equipped with zinc anchors.

The 14-inch LED widescreen, sporting a special anti-reflective surface, of the computer is three times brighter than those of other laptops. The computer houses three USB and FireWire connectors, a multi-media card reader, an ExpressCard slot, and an eSATA port. It also features WWAN, WLAN, and Bluetooth wireless technologies. Being an outdoor laptop, it also features an illuminated keyboard. The graphics are powered by Nvidia Quadro graphics card. The Dell Latitude E6400 XFR is available at a price of $4,200.

Its connectivity is supported with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, modem and Ethernet. The speakers are not powerful and are not adequate to listen to music or watching movies.

With 6530b HP has succeeded in targeting the business traveler with a wide collection of day-to day business tools. Hp’s Tools Security Manager gives the basics of file encryption to the users, which is quite useful when you have very sensitive data in your system. You can also have an option to lock your hard drives.

With lots of software application to offer, HP’s 6530b proves to be a useful business tool. The laptop gives you a good performance and doesn’t cost you fortune.

Netbook Aspire One D150 review

The world's been waiting for details on Acer's up and coming 10-inch Aspire, and we just got 'em in our hot little hands. The Aspire One D150 lineup hits the streets of France beginning in February with the D150-0B. This €329 ($425) netbook sports a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB memory, 160GB hard drive, a 10.1-inch (1024 x 600) display, and a 3-cell battery. Then in March, the D150-1B makes its appearance. An enhanced version of the D150, this device is otherwise identical, save a 6-cell battery that should be good for up to 7 hours -- the battery upgrade will set you back a cool €349 ($450). Lastly, the D150-2BG will be rocking an Intel Atom 1.66GHz N280 processor and sports integrated 3G quadband UMTS/HSDPA mobile broadband, and the 6-cell battery. Also available in March, this one has a price tag of €449 ($575). No word on a domestic street date, but you'll know as soon as we do.

Notebook Lenovo X200 Review

Today were putting the Lenovo x200 through its course. The x200 is the smaller brother to the now infamous x300, and an upgrade to the x61 series of earlier years (best in class for ultraportable as far as were concerned). Although being smaller, and lacking an optical drive, the x200 doesnt seem too tiny nor as thin as the x300, and developing most of its hardships with the battery bay and standard tracking devices. Of course, this is a very near end pre-consumer level model were reviewing, so Im sure things have gotten ironed out as soon as this review hits the shelf as far as fit and finish is concerned.

    A healthy refresh to the older X series, now offering widescreen and beefier components, the x200 is a very decent commuter workstation. Now, we just need a slight refresh to the aesthetics, a couple of more advanced output options, and a track pad / track point option, and we might have more of a winner. Oh, and usable speaker(s) would be nice as well.
